Roots of Yggdrasil

"In Norse mythology, Ratatoskr [...] is a squirrel who runs up and down the world tree Yggdrasil to carry messages between the unnamed eagle, perched atop Yggdrasil, and the wyrm Níðhöggr, who dwells beneath one of the three roots of the tree."

_{O-okay, so I took quite a lot of liberty with the number of tree roots. >____>; /Fail}

Wanted to do something slightly more serious for art, so, uh... Well, I've always liked Norse Mythology, and how else can you get away with having a dragon and a squirrel converse? xD

I gave Ratatoskr a little horn on his head because he has one in some depictions... Not sure if it was really a good idea, now. xD;;;

As for the Nidhoggr... I thought, having lived at the trees roots for so long, gnawing away, he'd start to look a little emaciated or atrophied, so I made him look pretty dull-coloured and weak.
I didn't want him to look stereotypically sinister either, so this is more of a sympathetic portrayal of him? _{Since some versions of the story say the roots are actually trapping him, which is certainly more troubling. xD In other versions, he's just being a git!}
I dunno. >:

... The floaty lights are totally Zelda inspired. Because all forests have shiny lights, don't you know?!
